Description

Mirror with hand-carved wooden frame featuring a laurel wreath.

The “triumphalis” crown, in ancient times, symbolized wisdom and glory and encircled the foreheads of the winners of athletic competitions and that of poets, called “laureati” precisely because of the “laurel” crown. Laurel was the sacred plant associated with Apollo, god of the sun and wisdom, music, poetry, sculpture and painting.
